Admissions Process
We designed our admissions process to be simple and relational. The Ambleside admissions journey is more than just a system. It is a chance for us to get to know you, and for you to get to know our school.
Next Steps
Apply – Create your account, share your story, and tell us about your child through our online portal.
Assessment – After receiving the completed application, we’ll invite your child for a relaxed assessment and chat at the school. This is a chance for us to get to know your child academically and socially.
Interview – Following the assessment, we will schedule a parent interview to get to know you, your family culture, and your educational goals.
Interview Preparation:
Read chapter 2 of When Children Love to Learn. This book outlines the ideas of Charlotte Mason (1842-1923), an English author, philosopher and educator, as the basis of Ambleside School’s method of providing a Living Education.
We ask that both parents (or legal guardians) participate in the interview.
Admissions Decision – Upon successful completion of the application, student assessment, recommendation forms, and parent interview, you will receive notification of admission. We’ll walk you through the next steps for the enrollment process and how you can secure your child’s seat.
Admissions Timeline
Applicants whose files are completed by February 1st will receive an admissions decision by March 1st.
After February 1st, qualified applicants will be considered based on available seats.
If no seats are available, students will be placed on a waiting list.
For questions, call the school office at 703-430-4034 or email admissions@ambleside.org.
