How To Begin A Nature Study

Originally I thought to not send optional Friday work this week as most of you likely transitioned to Spring Break mode as soon as work was completed yesterday!  However, I listened to a podcast this morning that inspired me to send along the following. 

Given the chaos, uncertainty and fear of the culture we currently find ourselves in, I thought your souls might be in need of some restoration. 

Natural beauty is something I've always found to restore my soul, so here is the optional work for today:

Take a walk, in your yard, neighborhood or local park with your nature study journal in tow. 

Find something beautiful. 

Sit and sketch what catches your eye and heart. 

Take your journal home and finish your entry by painting. 

Whether or not this fits into your Friday schedule, it is my prayer that over the next two weeks you all experience the restoration your hearts need. 

May God bless you and keep you as you celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.
