Welcome to The Winery at Bull Run

Step onto hallowed ground as you enter the Winery at Bull Run, a working farm winery set on 225 acres of the Bull Run battlefield. Peruse the in-house Civil War museum filled with actual relics dug from the property. Relax, socialize and learn from the Winery’s expert docents about the property’s history and the events that shaped the land. Explore the stunning grounds and admire the sunset over the Bull Run mountains. Listen to a select choir of Ambleside students and sample some of the delicious vintages grown, pressed and produced right here on the Winery grounds.

Surrounded by History

During cocktail hour, stroll through a hidden treasure: a museum filled to the brim with artifacts from the Civil War and other eras of American history. The museum boasts an incredible collection of pieces, many of which were discovered right here on the farm by the owner. Guides will explain the stories and significance behind key items. Walk outside and look out for signs relating the history of the ground on which you stand. You’ll be surrounded on all sides by fascinating relics from Virginia’s past.

Dinner is Served

For the evening meal, enjoy a delicious buffet from Eleven Courses Catering, replete with garden-fresh ingredients, savory entrees and fruity desserts.

Featured Speaker: Greg Lorden

Greg Lorden's children began attending Ambleside McLean (then Reston) in 1999, and his wife served on the board for 3 years. In 2010 they co-founded Ambleside School of Colorado, where they served as board members and active volunteers for 10 years. Greg continues to serve on the board of Ambleside Schools International, focusing his time on leadership development and board consultation throughout the Ambleside network. Previously, Greg spent 30 years in the technology business, with the last twelve at a successful software startup where he was SVP and GM of the Americas, overseeing half of the company's 4800 employees. Greg has also served as a leadership consultant, coach for 23 seasons of various sports, scout leader, study group leader, and mentor to countless men, from 18-72.

Greg and his wife Kimberley are delighted to have had all four of their children benefit from an  Ambleside education for nearly 20 years, and they have witnessed the blessings in their children’s growth over the years. Greg's testimony to the impact and value of an Ambleside education will leave you with fresh encouragement for this life-giving, habit-forming way to learn
