AMBLESIDE IN MCLEAN
Ambleside School is in McLean | Fall of 2018
The new school site is conveniently located near Tysons Corner, easily accessible from the Toll Road and right off Leesburg Pike, at 8980 Brook Road, McLean, VA 22102.
Since it first opened its doors in 1999, Ambleside has gained a reputation among area high schools for developing thoughtful, curious young people of character and conviction. Year after year, students have discovered their unlimited capacity for the knowledge found in good books, careful observation, intentional work, and free time out of doors.
Now, Ambleside has outgrown its space, and is moving to Providence Baptist Church in the Fall of 2018. We will always be a small school, no more than 16 per class, but we will have room to grow and modern, light-filled classrooms to better educate our students. For the 2018-19 school year, morning drop-off at Providence Baptist Church will be from 7:45 to 8:15 am. Afternoon pickup will be from 3:10 to 3:40 pm.
In February, the Board of Zoning Appeals approved our application to move to our new location. We are thankful for this new space and the opportunity to bring our vibrant Charlotte Mason education to a new neighborhood.
Here are some highlights of our new campus:
Larger classrooms with natural light.
Breakout rooms for science labs, art classes, and small instructional groups.
A library to hold our collection of classic literature
Open playgrounds for recess, wooded areas for nature study.
A large worship/community space for our annual, signature events - Veterans Chapel, Christmas Candlelight Service, and Shakespeare Festival.
Gym, kitchen and parlor to be used occasionally for community dinners, study groups, and Moms in Touch.
